Hope Ridge News 12/5

Reflections from Pastor Beth:

Dear Hope Ridge Family and Friends,
I pray that you each had a chance to give thanks over the last week, to lift up in gratitude to God  the many things in your life, including our faith and salvation in Christ Jesus.
This week, as we continue to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus, we will welcome our children into worship for our Christmas pageant.  This year’s pageant will tell the story of that first Christmas, but it also gives us a chance to laugh at our- sometimes- amalgamated but important parts of the Christmas story.  Come prepared to enjoy our children’s songs and learn the story of Christmas again for all ages.
Also, join in our preparation through the Advent devotional that is available on our website, Facebook page, and paper copies at the church Info Desk.
Blessings and peace,
Pastor Beth

This week:

  • The Ridge Kidz Pageant dress rehearsal is 9:15 am for the children this Sunday.  Please remember to arrive earlier than usual if your child is participating.
  • Our December Mission project is to give to families through the Lake County Community Network (LCCN).  A Giving Tree is in the Narthex this Sunday.  If you are able, take an “ornament” tag to buy a needed gift for others and bring it back next Sunday.  You can also help by giving your time to call the families to schedule their gift pick-up time, or greet them on Dec 20 from 10am-1pm at Hope Ridge as they pick up their gifts.  More details in Sunday’s bulletin.  Volunteer on Sunday’s Connection Card. Thank you!
  • This Wednesday, December 10 there is a UMW Circle Lunch, 1pm in Café.  Share a meal of soup and cookies as we reminisce with tales of Christmas past. RSVP on Sunday’s Connection card.  All women welcome!
See you Sunday! 🙂
